Exodus 15:20-21
Original Mixed Media, 11" x 14"

“Miriam the prophetess” was the sister of Moses and Aaron, and is described as one of the leaders sent by the Lord to guide Israel. (Micah 6:4) This drawing depicts Miriam’s song and dance of victory after the Israelites successful crossing of the Red Sea, finally escaping 400 years of Egyptian captivity. I suspect the reason we don’t have more records of the Israelite’s response to crossing the Red Sea is that they were so busy dancing and singing that no one thought to appoint a secretary.
