“Letters: A Ladakhi Man”
II Corinthians 3:2-3
Original Mixed Media, 5" x 7"
“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (II Corinthians 3:2-3)
When Paul wrote this I wonder what was going through his mind. Paul himself watched the stoning of Stephen and felt the serenity and power of a forgiving spirit. Stephen’s life at that point was a translation of the gospel, seen and read by Paul, resulting in his conversion.
Over the years I am continually surprised by the countless forms of Christ’s letters that have walked into my life and challenged and encouraged me like no other. Some don’t even know they are letters, yet their grace flows. Before you are God’s letters from all over the world, all with distinctly different backgrounds, personalities and stories. May the Lord give us eyes to see and ears to hear the stories each one brings.
